Our Meet the Chamber series continues with a familiar face — John R Craig, a returning member of the Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce Board! John’s ongoing dedication to the Chamber and our community has made a lasting impact, and we’re excited to have him back for another term in 2025.
Read below to learn more about John and the important role he plays in supporting our mission and local businesses.

John Craig is a dedicated community leader and a returning member of the Chamber Board of Directors. A past president of the Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce, he remains actively involved in local initiatives and currently serves as Vice President of the Sullivan Board of Education.
Professionally, John has been in the banking industry since 2019, specializing as a commercial and consumer loan officer. For the past two and a half years, he has been with Peoples Bank in Sullivan, where he manages and services both commercial and consumer loan portfolios. His role includes assisting clients with loan applications, providing expert guidance on financing options, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.
Committed to personalized service, John focuses on building strong client relationships and tailoring financial solutions to meet their needs.
Beyond his professional and civic roles, John is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Laura, are the proud parents of two daughters, Lillie and Jacklyn. Originally from Steelville, John has called Sullivan home for the past five years. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and actively supporting his daughters in their various sporting and musical endeavors.
John’s passion for the Sullivan community, combined with his leadership experience and financial expertise, makes him a valuable asset to the Chamber Board.
